When you have a system installed or if you have just added a new remote to your system, the batteries that come with the remote are basic off the shelf no name batteries, also the remote has probably been sitting in a warehouse for quite some time before delivery.
Typically, the batteries may only last for about 2-3 weeks so have some AA or AAA batteries ready to go and make sure they are name brands like Energizer or Duracell. It’s like when you buy a new washing machine, the manufacturer will give you a “sample” of washing machine detergent. It’s the same way with batteries so stock up.
